Honolulu International Airport (HNL)
HNL is the principal port and aviation gateway of the state of Hawaii, with annual passenger traffic reaching over 18 million in 2009. It is located three miles northwest of Oahu's central business district.
Honolulu International Airport serves as the principal hub of Hawaiian Airlines, the largest Hawaii-based airline. Hawaiian offers flights between the various airports of the Hawaiian Islands and also serves the continental U.S., Australia, Samoa, Tahiti, and The Philippines. 31 airlines serve Honolulu International Airport, including 25 international carriers. Hilo International Airport (ITO)
ITO is located on the east side of the island of Hawaii, "The Big Island", and is served primarily by interisland airlines. With eight passenger gates and an average of 263 operations a day, this airport sees its fair share of local and tourist traffic.
The Big Island is home to active volcanoes, orchid farms, waterfalls and a rugged coast line. With a population of over 40,000, Hilo is Hawaii's fourth largest city and is considered the "Orchid Capital" of the world, attracting tourists throughout the year. Hilo is home to the University of Hawaii at Hilo and the Mauna Loa Macadamia Nut Corporation, one of the world's leading producers of macadamia nuts.
Kahului Airport (OGG)
OGG is the primary airport on the island of Maui and receives both overseas and interisland flights. In 2009, over 5 million passengers traveled through Kahului Airport to ultimately enjoy Maui's beautiful beaches, exciting water sports, great dining, and the Aloha spirit.
Kapalua Airport (JHM)
JHM is located on the west side of the Island of Maui, which is a short distance from the resort destinations of Kaanapali and Lahaina. This airport is served by commuter planes.
Kailua-Kona International Airport (KOA)
Nearly 3 million passengers traveled through KOA in 2009. Kona is the primary airport on the Island of Hawaii, serving international, overseas, and interisland flights. KOA is located in West Hawaii in Keahole. The big Island is known for its active volcanoes, orchids, golf courses, and scenic coastline.
Lihue Airport (LIH)
LIH is the primary airport on the Island of Kauai, handling both overseas and interisland flights. Kauai is home to beautiful beaches, exciting water sports, Waimea Canyon, and has a lot of Aloha spirit. Nearly 2.5 million passengers used Lihue airport for their travels in 2009.
