Overview

Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) is the sixth busiest airport in the world, the third largest airport in the nation, and the primary airport serving the Greater Los Angeles area. Nearly 62 million passengers used LAX in 2011, making it the most traveled "origin and destination" airport around the globe. As the top gateway to Asia and the Pacific region, it is one of the top three busiest airports in the country for international traffic.

LAX serves nearly 70 passenger airlines - primarily American Airlines, Southwest Airlines and United Airlines, for which it is a hub. Delta Air Lines operates its major international flights from there, while many other airlines assist in serving North America, Latin America, Asia, Oceania and Europe.

Located in Southern California and home to over 4 million people, Los Angeles is the state's most populated city.  Known primarily as the entertainment capital of the world, Los Angeles attracts visitors from all over the globe.
